ABOUT THIS SITE
ChrisHoare.ca is a one man online magazine of sorts. It’s an effort to provide motor heads, motorsport enthusiasts, and enthusiast owners with a picture through my eyes of what’s going on in the Greater Toronto Area (and outside if possible) with a focus primarily on import tuning and the scene surrounding it.
I work with a number of local enthusiasts and groups to provide coverage of events, feature established and up-and-coming rides, and occasionally talk smack about why Subarus will inherit the earth. My goal is as close to 100% original content as possible since most blogs out there recycle or aggregate what someone else has done.
HISTORY
I started this blog after picking up my second Subaru – an STI – to document the path of mods and fun stuff I did with the car. Well, I quickly realized I definitely didn’t have the funding to run a race program every weekend so there wasn’t going to be much to post. Rather than let the site wither and die (along with my interest in car culture) I decided to start shooting friends cars and posting the shoots. From there, it just grew. Now I’m tracking down unique enthusiast rides of all sorts across the greater Toronto area to shoot and events to document.
It began as a way to share my photography and my car, but within the first season I have made so many friends and met so many people that it turned into a way to give voice and recognition to the hard work that enthusiasts from all scenes all over Toronto put into their rides – from Italian exotic to domestic tuners and import econoboxes. It’s a lot of hard work in my spare time but the stories I’ve heard and things I’ve done always make up for the late nights in Photoshop and editting CSS.
PARTICIPATE
I’m always looking to photoshoot and feature new cars, new shops, new personalities and cover fresh events on my blog. If you’re interested in setting something up or working together, let me know. Also be sure to check out my Flickr stream for further photography, coverage and info on the cars and events you see covered on my blog.
